Flaming up on the big stage has become a routine for Julian Alvarez. Argentina's
World Cup-winning forward also
showed great form in the club's jersey, this time on the FIFA Club World Cup stage.
After the fastest goal in the final
shook the net once more. He also had an assist in a 4-0 win over Fluminense.
 The 23-year-old Argentine won
Man City the world championship for the first time.
Alvarez made history at the Club World Cup on Friday. He returned Lionel
Messi's goal in the 2009 final in Barca's jersey.
Citizens went ahead in just 40 seconds. Nathan Aker's long shot bounced off the post.
Alvarez chested the ball into the empty net.
He scored goals for Man City in six different tournaments. In the 27th minute,
Fluminense defender Nino scored an own goal
when he intercepted Phil Foden's cross.
In the 72nd minute, Alvarez's low cross into the box, Fodden pushed the ball into the net.
 He became the first English
player to score in a Club World Cup final since Manchester United's Wayne Rooney
in 2008 (against LDU Quito).
Two minutes before the end of the game, Matthews Nunez broke through the defense
and advanced the ball into the box.
Alvarez fooled an opponent to score the team's fourth goal.

Manchester City won the Club World Cup for the first time, but coach Pep Guardiola
saw them touch the trophy a record four times.
